weekend schmooze 010
I'm writing this after submitting the last file and putting a stop to four grueling weeks of daily grind. I'm exhausted, but I feel like the weight of the world is off my shoulders. Now I can completely focus on current affairs! Just kidding, I don't know what tired me the most lately: the state of the world we live in or the lack of days off.
Also, now that I'll have some free time, I'm hoping to get back to sharing more of the wonderful blog posts I read. I'm considering changing to a Postroll similar to Jedda's which seems like a great way to share posts in a "consistent" way, and even better to resurface older posts. I don't know how to get around to do it, but it seems like a fun challenge!
📚 Reading
- Finished História de Quem Vai e de Quem Fica, the third volume of Elena Ferrante's Neopolitan Novels, and immediately started the fourth and final book!
- Read Como Antes, by Alfred, a incredible graphic novel about two estranged brothers who go on a road trip back to their hometown.
📺 Watching
- Finished watching Joe Pera Talks with You, and I'm struggling to understand how this show was cancelled. It offers such an unique and special way of looking at the world.
- Also finished Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss. I liked the Bulgaria episode and the scene where Rainn showered some elephants, but the final episode and its conclusions seemed very... meh?
- Watched three episodes of Detroiters. I guess this is my new show to watch at lunchtime!
🚲 Wandrering
- Another stressful week when I didn't do the things that help me get out of a rut: working out and/or cycling. I did cycle, but only did 11 km on two occasions. I'm committing to getting back to the saddle this week!

- Why you feel stuck — and how to get motivatedby TED-Ed. Not a video about getting motivated to hustle and get that bag like the cool kids say nowadays. Served as a nice reminder to focus on the things you have control over and taking it one step at a time.
- This week, I found Anthony Bourdain's blog, and I've been reading it. One of my core memories is watching his shows with my parents while growing up. I've also read Kitchen Confidential and Bone in the Throat and I have Get Jiro on my bookshelf, which I'm sure will now be one of my next reads. You're dearly missed, Tony!
