weekend schmooze 015

My father is having a great recovery! We were afraid the post-op would be difficult and that he would be in pain, but that has not been the case. Even the incision has healed beautifully! It's been a month since he slipped and tore his muscle, and things are looking way more promising than we expected at the time.

Also, and as much as I dislike self-diagnosis, I figured out I may be on the autism spectrum. I was watching a video from Project No Buy's channel, and she mentioned the RAADS–R test, and I decided to take it. I've discussed my suspicions with my girlfriend regarding being on the spectrum in the last year or so, but I had never taken any action.

Well, I scored 123 in the RAADS-R, 34 in the Autism Spectrum Quotient, 149 in the Camouflaging Autistic Traits Questionnaire (CAT-Q), 111 in the Aspie Quiz and 36 in the Adult Repetitive Behaviours Questionnaire-2 (RBQ-2A).

To be honest, I felt a relief when I looked at the scores. Even though I need to check these results with a professional—should I look for a psychologist or a psychiatrist? I don't even know—it feels like I found a huge piece of the puzzle. It explains so many feelings and overall behaviours I had never been able to describe or understand. Even if it's not autism, or not only autism, taking these tests was the push I needed to seek help.

Now, some quick notes: Yesterday was my 28th birthday, and today I was greeted with the first sunny day without rain in weeks. I've also got some new assignments, which eased my typical "will AI actually run me out of work this time" anxieties. Overall, a great start of the week!
